The emergency medicine service was organized and developed in the First Aid Station of Scutari’s and Puke’s Hospitals, as well as out of the Hospitals, in Scutari’s and Puke’s areas:
Scutari’s Regional Hospital ’s and Puke’s Provincial Hospital ’s First Aid Stations were completely renovated, equipped and furnished
7 ambulances were equipped in accordance with the international standards
Scutari’s Operation Centre (the first of the country) with three single stations linked to a software of emergency management in the area was organized
Several technical assistance missions for the medical/nursing staff’s training, concerning the organizational and clinic management of in- and out-of-hospital emergencies, were effected
The staff training was carried out thanks to about ten scholarships in the First Aid Station of San Raffaele Hospital and to Verona’s 118-service.
In February 2012 the Albanian government and the Italian one came to an agreement about the swap of Albany ’s dept towards Italy ; these funds have to be used in cooperative development activities with Italian NGOs. Considering that the further project’s stage was formally approved and is now supported by the Albanian Health Ministry, its funding through this institution seems possible.
