Objective: Contribute to mitigate the impact of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Streep, reinforcing the Public Hospitals capacities in surgical activities.

The Israeli / Arab conflict has had an important impact on the Gaza Health Service, because of the damages of the infrastructures, of the number of war causalities and of the deficiency in electric power supply. There is a shortage of drugs and consumables and several health care personnel were lost.

The present initiative supported the surgical services to face the increase demands in emergencies.

In particular the project supported Shifa and Al Quds public Hospital. As a consequence of the safety instructions given by the Italian General Consulate of Jerusalem that against an overnight stay in Gaza Streep, the clinical missions have been reduced, and has been increased the purchase of equipment, drugs and consumables to support hospital surgical activities. A medical doctor coordinated the project’s activities: thanks to the good relationships established with the beneficiaries, that from time to time have expressed their needs, the project was able to purchase all the required items.
