SUDAN – Integrated, multisectoral health care for displaced persons, refugees, and host communities in Port Sudan and Kassala

Objective

Ensure life-saving assistance and protection to internally displaced persons, refugees, and host communities in Eastern states affected by conflict, using a DDR approach.

Activities

• Mapping and selection of vulnerable households for the planning of food assistance and socioeconomic inclusion interventions
• Community Assistance Service: Food for Work and non-food item kits
• Multi-purpose cash interventions for vulnerable categories
• Rehabilitation of WASH services in health centers and IDP gathering sites with a DRR approach and adaptation of spaces for physical therapy
• Supply of medical equipment and furnishings for public facilities
• Supply and distribution of medicines, laboratory materials, and consumables for the provision of free services
• Training for healthcare service personnel
• Provision of rehabilitation treatments in health centers
• Awareness-raising, advocacy, and health education campaigns in health centers and at the community level
• Rehabilitation of public educational facilities dedicated to children and young people with disabilities with a DRR approach
• Purchase of furniture and educational materials, including aids for people with disabilities and for psychomotor rehabilitation
