Objective

To contribute to improving the health status of the Egyptian population through improved nursing care, particularly in three Governorates (Port Said, Ismailia, South Sinai) and neighboring areas.

Activities

  • Maintenance/remodeling/partial reconditioning of the nursing section of the Technical Institute (HTI) in Ismailia
  • Acquisition of equipment, furnishings, instrumentation
  • Technical assistance to the improvement of HTI curricula and related training content
  • Technical assistance for the professional updating of teachers
  • Technical assistance for the development of a mentorship and tutorship system
  • Scholarships in Italy for nursing staff
  • Support for the continuous updating and development of the nursing training website
  • Technical support for the testing and possibly the creation of public-private partnerships (PPPs) for the training of students in continuing education establishments and centres
  • Technical assistance for the strengthening of coordination and collaboration with the Department of Continuing Education of Governorates and Human Resources Directorate
  • Technical assistance for the realization of continuous training courses
  • Financial contribution to the implementation of refresher courses
  • Technical assistance and support for infrastructure development for distance learning
  • Implementation of a specialist cardiology and equipment acquisition clinic
  • Technical assistance for the elaboration of clinical protocols, diagnostics, operating procedures
  • Training of personnel on site and through scholarships in Italy
  • Collaboration with MOHP authorities and beneficiary Governorates to define a Research Plan
  • Assistance in carrying out research on the topics of interest of the project
  • Technical and financial support for publications in specialist journals or other media
  • Technical and financial support for conferences, seminars and workshops
