This project is developed in cooperation with University of Sassari
Objective: contribute to improve the health of the population of the Autonomous Region of Kurdistan in the context of the war going on in Mosul and Nineveh area.

The main activities of the third phase of the project are the following :

1) Professional Training Development Course

Mentorship Training Programme

Within the framework of the project this Professional Training Development course was designed by Vita-Salute San Raffaele University  and its Centre for Nursing Research and Innovation to strengthen tutoring competencies of Nursing Staff responsible for clinical training in the College of Nursing (University of Duhok), in the School of Nursing (Polytechnic University) and in the Hospitals of Duhok which welcome the students for their internship. The course consisted of 40 credits and involved 4 nurses.

2) Renovation and equipment of 4 training units at:

-Duhok Directorate General of Health

-Maternity Hospital

-Emergency Hospital

-Hevi Pediatric Hospital

3) Bone Marrow Transplantation Strategic Plan

a) Master Plan developed with the following main criterias:

-BMT Total surface : 1.100 sqm (8 beds)

-Works planning according to the clinical and logistical priorities

-Improving of the hospital flows, both internal and external

-Strengthening technological implants

-Introducing technologies and procedures to improve hygiene

  • SUDAN – Support to refugees, IDPs and host communities at Hamdayet camp in Kassala through the strengthening of health, water and sanitation facilities

    Strengthen health and WASH services for the benefit of the vulnerable population present in Hamdayet transit camp, in order to improve their living conditions and mitigate the negative effects of the humanitarian crisis, including for the host communities, through the creation of water points, showers, latrines and the rehabilitation of a health center.
